Wound Management Webinar

Aimed for GPs and Nurses.

The aim of this webinar is to update GPs and Nurses on the management of wounds in general practice.

At the end of the webinar, the participant will be able to:

• Understand the principles of wound management.
• Review different types of acute wounds and their management.
• Identify treatment strategies for chronic wounds management.
• Recognise when to refer patients to maximise wound healing.

Dr Stephen Yelland : MBBS, General Practitioner. QLD.

Dr Yelland is a General Practitioner working on the Gold Coast since 2012. He has a keen interest in chronic wounds and with the assistance of the Gold Coast PHN he runs a wound clinic that provides clinical management to patients suffering from wounds. He delivers education, upskilling and mentoring to nurses, GPs, GP registrars,and medical students around Australia. In addition to serving on various committees of Wounds Australia most recently he has sat on the Wound Management Working Group for the MBS task force, assisted in the review of Therapeutic Guidelines Ulcer and Wound Management and assisted in the development of the Wound Australia guidelines for Aseptic Technique in Wound Dressing Procedures.
